Opinion and Thought

    Hello, Assalamu'alaikum. Today i want to explain about Opinion and Thought.

    Definitions: In English, opinion and thoughts are rather different in their definition. Opinion is basically a statement about what you have in mind about something, either agree or disagree, pro or con and so on. Thoughts are actually ideas or what you think about something. It can be an opinion, solution, critics etc.

Asking opinion:

Formal:
- Have you got any comments on …..

- Do you have any idea?

- Do you have any opinion on ……

- Would you give me your opinion on……….?

- What is your reaction to ……

- What is your opinion about……….?

- What are you feeling about………….?

- What are your views on……….?

- Please give me your frank opinion?

Informal

- What do you think of…….?

- What is your opinion?

- Why do they behave like that?

Giving opinion

Formal :

Agreeing with an Opinion

• Of course.

Disagreeing with an opinion

• I am sorry, I don't agree with you.
• I am not sure I agree with you.

• I am afraid I have to disagree with you.

• That's not the same thing at all.
• It is not justified to say so.

Contoh Dialog:

My partner is Mikaila Acelin, we are talking about learning from home.

mika: hi indah! long time no see you! we last met in march, right? how are you?

indah: hi mika! yes, it's been a long time and i miss my friends. i'm fine. how about you?

mika: i'm fine, thank you! are you having trouble learning from home like this?

indah: honestly, it's difficult for me to understand the material when studying like this. no teacher taught me. i only learn from internet and videos. how about you?

mika: same as you. actually, I'm also a bit difficult to learn material through video from the internet.

however, sometimes I can understand the material well.

mika:  your opinion is good. but, in my opinion, during learning from home, why not learn new things? we are not bound by tight time. not like in school. that is in my opinion
